Winter Wonderland: January to March

Lake George’s first Ice Skating Rink! 

  • Dates: Thursdays-Sundays through March 2, 2025
  • What to Expect: Lake George has a new skating rink on Beach Road this season! Enjoy free admission to this classic wintertime activity with family or friends! No skates? No problem, rentals are available in all sizes for a $5 fee. Operating Hours: Thursdays & Fridays 4:00 – 8:00pm, Saturdays and Holidays 12:00 – 8:00 pm and Sundays 12:00 – 6:00 pm

Lights at the Lake

  • Dates: Thursdays-Sundays, November 30 through March 2, 2025
  • What to Expect: Lights at the Lake is a brand-new, free event in the heart of Lake George Village. Enjoy the displays at Charles R. Wood Park, Fort William Henry, Beach Road, and Shepard Park. This attraction will be open to the public every Thursday – Sunday, 4:00pm-9:00pm, from Saturday.

Lake George Winter Carnival

  • Dates: Weekends in February
  • What to Expect: Experience the thrill of ice diving, polar plunges, snowmobile races, and more. The Lake George Winter Carnival is a family-friendly event featuring live entertainment, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display every Saturday night. What if there is no ice? Not all winter carnival events are ice-dependent. Depending on conditions some events may be cancelled or relocated. It is best to check the website for the latest information!

Calm Before the Summer: April to June

Memorial Meltdown

  • Dates: May 24-25
  • What to Expect: There’s no better way to kick off summer in Lake George than at the Festival Commons with great music. This two day event typically has a headliner and other artists through the day into the evening.

Americade Motorcycle Rally

  • Dates: May 27-31
  • What to Expect: The world’s largest multi-brand motorcycle touring rally takes over Lake George with scenic rides, vendor expos, live music, and community events. This event draws crowds of over 50,000 where you can watch stunt shows, participate in guided motorcycle tours, and more!

Lake George Music Festival

  • Dates: June 8-19
  • What to Expect: Immerse yourself in classical and contemporary music performed by talented artists from around the world. Concerts take place in various venues, including outdoor settings with stunning lake views.

LARAC June Arts Festival

  • Dates: June 14-15
  • What to Expect: The June Arts Festival is one of the premier summer events in the southern Adirondack Region, drawing crowds of over 15,000. The Festival features about 150 exhibitors offering shoppers a variety of products such as jewelry, home items, food items, fine art, textiles, garden decorations, etc. The festival also includes not for profit booths, arts demonstrations, children’s activities, food concessions, and live entertainment by local musicians.

Adirondack Food & Wine Festival

  • Dates: June 29-30
  • What to Expect: Indulge in the best of New York’s culinary scene showcasing some of the best wineries, breweries, distilleries, artisan food vendors, crafters, and food trucks. This festival is a must-visit for foodies and wine lovers alike with entertainment throughout the event weekend.

Summer Vibes: July to August

Fourth of July Fireworks 

  • Dates: July 4
  • What to Expect: Celebrate Independence Day with dazzling fireworks over the lake. Bring a blanket and enjoy the show from Shepard Park or aboard a scenic boat cruise.

Thursday Fireworks 

  • Dates: Thursdays from July 10 through August 28
  • What to Expect: Make new memories under a sky of colors. With no need for a reason to celebrate, fireworks happen weekly over the southern basin of Lake George around 9:30 pm on Thursdays between Independence Day and Labor Day. Vacations in the Lake George Area are not complete without witnessing the amazing fireworks display that can be seen from various locations in the Village. Fireworks cruises are also available to get an up close view while aboard some amazing steamboats.

Fall: September to November

Adirondack Nationals Car Show

  • Dates: September 4-7
  • What to Expect: Gearheads will love this classic car show featuring vintage automobiles, hot rods, and muscle cars. The event includes a car cruise through town and live entertainment. This event was first held in 1988 with under 300 vehicles. Today, the car show boasts over 1,500 classic and antique cars, with registration beginning early in the year as everyone wants to get in on the fun. 

Adirondack Balloon Festival

  • Dates: September 18-21
  • What to Expect: The Adirondack Balloon Festival is a spectacular sight to see, as dozens of hot air balloons fill the sky with brilliant colors. You can walk inside half-inflated balloons, get an inside look at balloonists preparing for flight, and there’s also live music and other fun activities. Balloons take off at select locations in Queensbury and Glens Falls. This event has been taking place for over 50 years.

Lake George Oktoberfest

  • Dates: October 11-13
  • What to Expect: Celebrate Bavarian culture with authentic German food, craft beer, live music, and family-friendly activities. The festival takes place in the heart of Lake George Village.

Gore Mountain Harvest Festival

  • Dates: October 11-12
  • What to Expect: Enjoy the peak of fall foliage with craft vendors, live music, gondola rides, and delicious seasonal treats at Gore Mountain.
