Staff Favorites Local Guide
Are you planning your trip to Lake George but having trouble figuring out where to go, what to do, or where to eat? We know there are so many options in the area, so we put together our staff’s favorite activities and restaurants for you!
Quick Meals
Pizza Jerks has great pizza and wings! We love the variety of specialty pizzas they have. You can try one of their fun and creative pies or pick your toppings. Spencer’s favorite is the Rasta Pizza and Buffalo wings. They also deliver!
Taqueria Paloma is inspired by authentic Mexican cuisine and tradition. You can always tell your food is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We recommend getting a burrito and trying out an Orange Jarrito to drink!
Martha’s is famous for their large portions of soft-serve ice cream, but they also have a grill. You can find burgers, cheesesteaks, sandwiches, chicken, and salads on their menu. Their portions are relatively large, but try to save room for dessert. You can usually beat late-night ice cream crowds if you go mid-day for lunch!
Restaurants
Saluti Italian Restaurant is located in downtown Lake George at 25 Canada Street. Adrienne loves their Shrimp with Pesto served over angel hair pasta! Enjoy delicious Italian food, then finish your night off with a walk downtown and shop the local stores!
The Log Jam is a fan favorite for our Stone Gate Family, where you can enjoy a fantastic salad bar, tender steaks, and all-around good eats! Our go-to menu item is the Black Angus Ribeye. It is located on Route 9, near the Lake George Outlet Mall.
Activities
Experience the Adirondacks hand-on at Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course located in Bolton Landing! Test your agility and balance on tons of treetop rope courses and ziplines. It’s an unforgettable adventure that’s sure to leave the whole family smiling!
Take a scenic hike up Pilot Knob Ridge. Enjoy a beautiful aerial view overlooking Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains at the top of this 4-mile long family-friendly hike! Grab your hiking boots and bug spray, and head out to try this hike out for yourself.
The Lake George Steamboat Company offers daily varied length cruises on three large ships from May through October. It is a great way to get out on the lake and see Lake George from a different perspective while learning about the history and the area.
